Clarity in life does not come from thinking harder, it comes from making space to hear what you already know. This is the heart of a path I call The Knowing.
In short:
- Overthinking, planning, and journaling can organise your thoughts, but they rarely produce real clarity.
- True clarity is remembered, not reasoned out, it rises from your inner knowing when you slow down enough to listen.
- The Knowing is my philosophy and grounded, soul-led approach to finding direction without abandoning your intelligence or your success.
- You are not meant to figure this out alone. Being guided is wisdom, not weakness.
Why Doesn’t Thinking Harder Give You Clarity?
If you have built a successful business, raised a family, and made a full life for yourself, you are probably very good at solving problems. You plan, you research, you make lists, you think things through from every angle. It has worked for you for decades.
Then one day you notice a quiet restlessness that none of that seems to touch. On paper you have it all, and yet something in you knows there is more waiting, something you cannot quite access no matter how carefully you think it through.
This is the quiet ache so many capable women carry. Not a crisis, not a breakdown, just a persistent sense that there is a version of your life you have not yet stepped into, one your mind cannot argue its way toward.
This is not a failure of intelligence. It is simply that clarity was never meant to be reached by thinking harder. The mind is brilliant at organising what you already know. It is not built to reveal what has not yet surfaced.
What Is The Knowing?
The Knowing is the understanding that real clarity does not come from strategy, it comes from the soul. You cannot think your way there, you can only make room for it to rise.
This is not a rejection of your intelligence or your corporate wisdom. It is an invitation to add something to it. I combine an Advanced Diploma in Business Management and training through Marie Forleo’s B-School with a coaching certification from the Beautiful You Coaching Academy and my work as a Reiki Master and host of the podcasts Collectively Aligned and The Spiritual Chronicles, because I have lived in both worlds and refuse to choose only one.
This is what it means to be soul-led. Not chaotic, not ungrounded, simply guided by something deeper than your calendar or your inbox.
The Knowing is what happens when a woman stops trying to force an answer and instead learns to trust what she already knows underneath the noise.
Where Does This Kind of Clarity Actually Come From?
Clarity like this tends to come from stillness, from the body, from the parts of you that are older and quieter than your to-do list. For many women it also comes through spiritual practices that were not part of their corporate life at all, things like meditation, energy work, or Akashic Records readings.
The Akashic Records are one doorway into this kind of remembering. If you are curious about what they are and how a grounded woman might use them, you can read more here.

Whatever the doorway, the pattern is the same. Clarity is not built, it is remembered.
Why Planning and Journaling Only Take You So Far
There is nothing wrong with a plan or a journal. They are wonderful tools once you already know what is true for you. The trouble starts when we use them to try to manufacture clarity that is not there yet.
You do not need to do all the things to build an aligned life or business. Alignment beats strategy every time. A woman who is soul-led and clear about her direction will often move with far less effort than one who is doing everything right on paper but still feels unsettled underneath it.
If you have filled journals with questions you cannot answer, or built vision boards that never quite feel true, it is not because you did it wrong. It is because you were reaching for clarity with a tool designed for something else.
None of this means abandoning the tools you love. It simply means putting them in the right order, listening first, then journaling what you already know rather than searching for it on the page.
Is It Too Late to Find Clarity and Purpose at Sixty?
No. If anything, sixty is one of the most powerful thresholds a woman can stand on. You have decades of wisdom, discernment, and lived experience that a younger woman simply does not have yet.
Purpose does not have an expiry date. It does not fade with age, it deepens. What feels like being behind is often simply readiness, your life has finally given you enough perspective to hear what has been waiting patiently underneath it all.
Perhaps you spent decades building something impressive in the corporate world, and now find yourself craving something more spiritual without knowing how to bridge the two. That bridge is not as far away as it feels.
You are not broken and you are not lost. You have simply not yet learned to trust what you already know.

How Do You Begin to Trust Your Inner Knowing Again?
Start small. Notice the difference between a thought that is loud and anxious and a knowing that is quiet and steady. The mind tends to shout, the soul tends to whisper.
Give yourself moments of real stillness, even five minutes, without a screen, without a plan, without trying to solve anything. Notice what rises when you are not chasing it. This is often when the truest answers appear, not because you worked harder for them, but because you finally stopped drowning them out.
This is also where being held and guided can help. You do not have to carry this alone. Working with someone who can hold space for you while you remember what you already know is not a shortcut, it is simply support, and support is wisdom rather than weakness.
When you trust what you know, everything changes. Not because your circumstances shift overnight, but because you stop fighting yourself long enough to move in the direction that was always yours.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find clarity in my life when I feel stuck?
Start by stepping away from more planning and more thinking, and instead create quiet space where you are not trying to solve anything. Notice what feels true in your body rather than what sounds right on paper. You already have the answers, they simply need quiet to surface. Clarity tends to rise once the mental noise settles, not while you are still adding to it.
What is the difference between intuition and overthinking?
Overthinking is loud, repetitive, and often driven by fear or the need to control an outcome. Intuition, or your inner knowing, tends to be quiet, steady, and simple, it does not need to argue its case. If a thought keeps circling and building anxiety, it is usually overthinking, if it feels calm and clear, it is usually your knowing.
Can spirituality and a successful career go together?
Yes, and for many women they were never meant to be separate. Corporate wisdom and spiritual depth are not at war with each other, together they can become your greatest strength rather than two competing identities you have to choose between.
What is The Knowing exactly?
The Knowing is my philosophy and coaching approach, built on the understanding that real clarity comes from the soul rather than from strategy. It is also the name of my three month coaching immersion, but at its heart it simply describes a way of living where you learn to trust what you already know instead of trying to think your way there.
If any of this feels familiar, you do not need to have it all figured out today. I have created a free resource called The Coming Home Journal, a short guided reflection with three questions drawn from the spirit of the Akashic Records, to help you begin listening to what you already know. You can receive it by joining my email list, simply as a gentle first step toward coming home to yourself.
