You’re trying to step up in your business but suddenly notice that Maryover there is launching the same thing, and Janeover there is doing XYZ that you’re doing too. You stop, you can’t compete, you feel they’ve got it better than you, you’re petrified no one is going to buy your products, or your questions EVERYTHING.

I get it, I’ve been there more than once.

I didn’t launch because I suddenly didn’t think I could cut it like the others launching at the same time. I forgot that we’re targeting different markets, I forgot that they aren’t me, nor am I them, therefore we wouldn’t be marketing the exact the same way, anyway. I simply forgot because it was SO NOISY.

What to do? (Scratching head)

You need to turn the noise OFF. Doesn’t mean you can’t turn it back on later, but for this moment in your time, it needs to be off.

What does this mean?

Stop following them on social media.

Stop subscribing to their mailing list.

Silence their social media post for at least 30 days.

Focus on your project/launch.

Stick to your game plan.

Remove yourself from the areas where the doubt is creeping in.

Clear the clutter from your mind, clear the noise they’re creating. Break free, it’s okay.  I’m sure if the shoe was on the other foot they’d do the same.

Let’s break this down.

Social Media

Remove the notifications for when they post, or snooze them for 30 days. Otherwise you can unfollow them, it doesn’t mean you can’t go back later and re-follow them. You need to do what feels right.

Digital Free Hours / Days

Yes, turn them off. Stop spending so much time checking emails, social media and messages. Give yourself time away. Let your creativity have room to breathe and grow.

Routines

Have a good healthy morning routine, that is empowering for you. Not one that involves checking your iPhone or iPad the minute you wake up, that has you feeling like you’re on the back foot. Start on the positive side.

Start you working day the same. Don’t just instantly fire up the computer and get straight into emails and social media. That too noisy. Get your desk space ready for you to work, grab a nice cuppa and prep anything else that helps you create a harmonious work environment for yourself. You might burn essential oils, or do some quick mindful meditation to calm your mind and be ready to start your working day.

Write a list

Launching a new product or service, can at times feel stressful. The last thing you need is lots of noise throwing you off your thought process. Write a list of the things needing to be done, and map out the strategy to get you to the end result. Stick to it. Don’t let the noise filter in. Focus on one task at a time. Multi-tasking is not as productive as you may think. Doing one task at a time get you there faster.

Keep your inspiration near

When the noise gets too loud, we can forget our why. Keep mementos and people around you to inspire you to keep going and focus on your own journey and destination.

The noise can be very loud and it can be debilitating, therefore it is totally okay to turn off the noise.

You have a purpose to fulfil, so let the noise move elsewhere and let the world receive that gift you have.
