We often hear that we must keep going forward, grow and take the next leap. BUT this isn’t truly the case. If you’ve created a business you love, and you want to grow, it’s often we can suddenly find ourselves at point where nothing feel aligned, nothing is what we thought it was going to be or we could be feeling completely overwhelmed or insecure about the gift we bring to our business.

Yes, we all want to grow and be successful in our business.

And, of course, we all want to be rich!

Firstly, there is no timeline for when success will come nor a timeline for when we must have it all done. The truth is, it’s never ending. Look at all the successful entrepreneurs, they’re not sitting up there on their supposedly pedal stool going ‘I’ve got it, I’m here. Nowhere for me to go now, I’m owning it.’ Blah blah blah

Of course not, they’re looking for the next thing to keep them ahead of the game.

It’s continuous growth.

This is a great thing. But it isn’t a great thing, when you’re at the end and it wasn’t something you loved, or it doesn’t feel like your master piece and fully aligned to you.

Was it worth it?

Was it what you’d original dreamed/envisioned?

Why do you need to backwards in order to move forward?

How do you know what you’re creating is still aligned to your vision?

How do you know if you’re being successful to your vision, dream, goal and desire?

How do you know if it’s all working for you?

What if you started your business and you were landing clients, and you were keen to bring in more clients and you kept growing but you never stopped to reflect on what is working for you and against you. Do you think you might find yourself burn out and producing a whole lot of nothing?

Yes.

Taking a step back enables you to see what your achieving, what is working for you, against you and what you can look at changing for the better. It can also enable you to get rid of clutter, make room for new possibilities and enable you to open creative flows to more amazing things you could be bringing to your people!

We keep moving forward, opening new doors,
and doing new things, because we’re curious
and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.

What is stepping back? What is it about? What do you need to do?

Taking a step back is about reviewing, looking, reflecting or simply analysing what you’ve achieved and what you want to change or remove, and what you are excited to create next.

Like you, in business, your audience are growing too.

Basically you’re giving your audience as sample of cake. Right? You given them a taste of that cake you’ve created. They want you to give them another taste, and then they want half a cake and then the whole cake.

What do you do? Make more cakes.

Yes, you could.  Wouldn’t you also want to look at making more VARIETY of cakes to expand your interest and their desire to keep them wanting more from YOU!

Your call to action

  1. Block out 30 minutes in your schedule to have a general review of where you are and where you want to be.
  2. Get pen and paper, draw 3 columns headed – SUCCESS, CHALLENGING & GET RID OFF
  3. Now, thinking about your journey, what have you been working for you and that your audience has loved. Put these in SUCCESS column.
  4. What has been a highlight that you needed but it’s not necessarily utilising your gift – put those into CHALLENGING column.
  5. And, what was a ‘hell no, I ain’t touching that again’, and yes you know where that goes. GET RID OFF column.

What next?

Determine how you are going to GET RID OFF those items, you need to remove them first so you can create room.

The CHALLENGING, what could you possible outsource, automate, delegate or change. Start researching solutions for these.

And finally SUCCESS, now that you have gotten rid of those unwanted items, start creating more of the successes for your audience so they want more cake!

Get going, make more cake!
